Space Camp: Day 1

Hi 5th grade families! Today, we made it safely to Space Camp! While on our trip from Michigan to Alabama, we stopped at the Tennessee Welcome Center to have breakfast. After we ate, ran, and stretched our legs, we hopped back on the bus. We drove for a few more hours before we stopped again at the Alabama Welcome Center. The kids were able to get a drink, run, and get some awesome pictures of a Saturn rocket. Our next stop was...SPACE CAMP! The kids were very patient as we checked in, dropped off our things in the Habitat, ate lunch, and played some outdoor games until our counselors were ready. Today was a quiet evening at camp. We had a small thunderstorm that rolled through during the time of drop-off, so the kids stayed in the Davidson Center and walked through the museum and watched a movie on Saturn until it passed. During this time, the King staff attended a chaperone meeting. We'll have more pictures to share tomorrow evening as we begin our first full day of camp! Your kids are happy and are comfortably sleeping in their Habitat. :) A successful first day. Have a great night! Leslie Vosters
