Space Camp: Day 4

Good evening, families! We had another great day at camp! Today, most of our kids got to visit the dive tank. While at the tank, the kids had a team building activity. They were given a variety of tubes that had different endings on them. As a team, they had to figure out how to build a cube. Initially, the groups thought the cube would be easy to build but they quickly found out that each post had a specific place it needed to be based upon its post ending. They worked great in their teams and every team was successful! Each group also completed their second mission today. The second mission involved a trip to Mars. On this trip, the space scientists could grow crystals, extract DNA from a strawberry, or make slime! Needless to say, the kids had a blast with their experiments. As I was walking back to the hotel at the end of the day, I passed a group. One of our kids said to me, "Mrs. Vosters, what are you going to tell next year's 5th graders about Space Camp?" I replied, "What do you think I should tell them?" And she replied excitedly, "that Space Camp is awesome!" ;-) Have a wonderful evening! Leslie
